About Si

Third time's the charm...?

We're always transparent when a dog has been returned. But if we're being honest, we still can't believe it's happened to Si... twice.

He's a lover boy through and through. He adores children, gets along with cats, loves other dogs, and somehow manages to be the brightest ray of sunshine despite being a solid black dog. Si is simply, genuinely happy.

Both times he was returned, it had nothing to do with him. Sometimes people realize they aren't ready for another dog, or any dog at all. Those things happen. But they shouldn't keep happening to Si. He deserves commitment. He deserves stability. Most of all, he deserves someone who will choose him forever.

Si came to us from a high-kill shelter looking more like a used mop than a doodle. He was severely matted and in desperate need of some TLC. Thanks to Ryan at Dusty Dog Salon, he got the makeover he deserved... and underneath all that tangled fur was one of the sweetest, happiest dogs we've ever met.

When Si needed somewhere to land after his second return, our incredible long-term foster, Denise, was ready for her next foster dog and welcomed him with open arms. After just a short time together, she told us:

"He made himself right at home. Pleasant surprise, he hasn't really tried to get on the furniture. Si is definitely a lover, not a fighter. Maple (resident dog) gets her way whenever I'm not making otherwise happen. They are inseparable."

That is exactly who our Si is. As much as we love having him as part of our shelter family, we'd much rather he become part of yours. Si is ready to stop wondering where he belongs. He's ready for his forever home.

If you'd like to make Si's third trip home his last, please submit an adoption application. We can't wait for you to meet this incredibly special boy.
