Poe is a 4-year-old, neutered Pittie mix, weighing around 60 lbs. He's a bundle of joy who's equal parts playful, loyal, and affectionate. Poe is an outgoing, fun-loving guy with the perfect mix of goofiness and smarts – the kind of dog who'll make you laugh one minute and melt your heart the next. He's always up for a mini photo shoot and loves to show off his curious, smart, silly, and affectionate personality. His favorite things include tug toys, belly rubs, and hanging out with his humans. One of his most endearing quirks is how seriously he takes his backyard duties, performing a full perimeter patrol every time he goes outside before he relaxes. He's quiet when meeting strangers, preferring to warm up before showing his true snuggly self. Poe is also great in the car, fine with stairs, and overall an easy, happy guy to have around.
Ideal Home
Poe would thrive in a moderate-to-high activity home that can keep him busy. He loves walks, play sessions, and having a job to do. He is terrified of thunder, fireworks, and loud buzzing noises like bug zappers, so his adopter should be ready to comfort him during those moments. His bark might sound tough, but underneath it all, he's the biggest baby who just wants to feel safe. He doesn't require another dog in the home but would enjoy one with a compatible energy level if introduced slowly.
Ongoing Health
Poe has no known ongoing health issues.
Training & Support
Poe is fully house-trained and crate-trained, sleeping quietly through the night. He always eats in his crate, which helps keep mealtime calm and routine, and he has never guarded food or toys. He could benefit from continued leash training and learning a few more commands to help him be his best self, but he's eager to learn and loves pleasing his people. When it comes to walks, Poe does best if he's had a chance to burn off some energy first. If he heads out right away, he tends to pull from excitement, but with a little leash work and structure, he'll be a dream walking companion.
