Meet Blu!
Blu is a vibrant, approximately two-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix with a boundless energy that's perfectly matched by her big heart and beautiful brown brindle coat with white accents. She followed a kind soul home and has been spayed, vaccinated, and doted on. Living with senior dogs and confident cats, Blu has shown gentle patience and an eagerness to belong. Now, she's ready for a space to stretch her legs, a routine to call her own, and a family ready to match her curiosity with companionship.
At 65 pounds, Blu is an affectionate, incredibly smart, and motivated-to-please pup. Her favorite pastimes include playing fetch with her soft frisbee, epic tug-o-war matches, chewing on yak cheese, and zooming around the yard like a joyful whirlwind! She also enjoys supervised shredding of soft toys and cardboard strips, which has been a creative way to channel her natural need to rip and chew. She hasn’t chewed on anything off-limits in months. Blu knows an impressive list of commands and responds well to structure, especially with treats and praise.

Blu is searching for a new loving home where she can thrive, somewhere with room to romp, people to love, and someone who finds her endearing mix of sweetness and spunk delightful. A fenced yard is a big plus, as is a family who enjoys an active lifestyle and has time to include her in their daily routine.

Training & Support
Blu is still working through her sensitivity to passing cars and men in baseball caps, but she’s made steady progress with positive reinforcement. She can get excitable, which usually results in jumping up on people and cobbing, though her caregivers have done a lot of work to help her manage these behaviors. She can also be destructive when under-stimulated, which makes regular mental and physical enrichment essential. She does best with three walks a day, plenty of playtime, and enrichment activities to keep her mind engaged. She's crate-trained and house-trained.
