About Lefou

Meet Lefou! This 6-month-old shepherd mix weighs about 42 lbs and is truly the best of both worlds. He has a playful, energetic side, especially when romping with his dog friends, but he also knows how to relax and enjoy his own space. He’s affectionate with his people, sweetly coming over for love, then happily settling into his own bed or favorite chair nearby.

Ideal Home

Lefou absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive in a home with a playful companion his size or larger. Wrestling, chasing, and playing are his favorite activities, and having a canine buddy helps him feel confident and fulfilled. He is gentle and does well with both kids and adults, but he can be shy when meeting someone new and will need a family willing to go at his pace, build trust with treats and affection, and continue his socialization so he can keep gaining confidence.

Ongoing Health

Lefou is a healthy boy with no known health conditions.

Training & Support

This smart boy is incredibly intelligent and food-motivated, which has made training a breeze. He already knows commands like sit, stay, and lay down—and he’s always ready to learn more. Puzzle toys, snuffle mats, and enrichment activities are right up his alley. Fair warning: you’ll want to keep treats secured—Lefou is clever enough to figure out where they are and how to get to them! He’s fully potty trained and crate trained, and sleeps quietly through the night without a peep. Lefou is currently working on leash training. Right now, leashes are still a bit scary for him, but he’s making progress every day. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, we know he’ll grow into a great walking or hiking companion.
