Maverick

Maverick is an energetic, goofy boy who is still building confidence in new situations. He was a little fearful when it came time to leash him and needed some encouragement to come inside, but once he was out and moving, he was ready to explore. On walks, he tends to pull on the leash and occasionally grab or bite at it when excited. Maverick has a fun, slightly goofy personality and can be a bit of a space cadet at times. While he seems interested in toys and wants to engage with them, he also appears unsure and a little intimidated by them, making for some amusing and endearing interactions. This handsome guy knows the "sit" command and absolutely loves treats. He can get a little sharky when he's excited about snacks, but his enthusiasm is all part of his charm. Maverick did very well with full-body handling and allowed touching of his paws, ears, tail, and body without issue. He seemed more curious than concerned, wondering why all the attention was focused on him. Maverick was an owner surrender and came in with his sister, Nyla.

Maverick is looking for an active home that can help build his confidence while providing plenty of exercise, enrichment, and positive reinforcement.

Ongoing Health

Maverick is current on shots, licensed, and microchipped. All dogs over 6 months have been heartworm tested, and all dogs are treated monthly for fleas/ticks and are on Heartworm prevention (NexGard PLUS). All pets are spayed/neutered prior to a finalized adoption.

Training & Support

Transporation

Maverick is at our shelter located at 5001 W. 104th Ave Westminster, CO 80020. Transportation may be available to approved adopters within a 2-hour radius of the shelter.
