CHARLIE

Charlie is a sweet, energetic 1.5-year-old Black Mouth Cur Lab mix weighing 85-90lbs. He arrived at the shelter as a stray and unfortunately ended up on the euthanasia list due to space constraints. Thankfully, he was rescued and is now looking for his forever home! Charlie is up to date on all his shots, heartworm negative, crate trained, and potty trained. He absolutely loves to play ball and is a fantastic fetcher, though he has a special fondness for tennis balls and enjoys a good game of keep-away with them! For all other balls, he's eager to bring them right back for another throw.

Ideal Home

Charlie would thrive in an active home with teenage children, a couple, or a single person who enjoys an active lifestyle. He'd be a great hiking and running buddy! While he's gentle, his exuberance might be a bit much for very young children. He gets along well with female dogs but isn't a fan of male dogs. His high energy might also be too much for a cat.

Ongoing Health

Charlie is up to date on all his vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is neutered.

Training & Support

Charlie knows several commands including heel, sit, come, stay, and "off" (for not jumping). He also understands "nice" or "gentle" for taking treats. He's still working on the "down" command but is a very smart boy who is eager to learn and could excel in activities like protection training or agility.
