Charlie is a beautiful Rottweiler/Retriever mix who just turned 3 and has spent nearly a year and a half in the shelter. She can be nervous with new people and needs patient adopters who are willing to visit several times, sit quietly nearby, and let trust develop at her pace. Once she feels safe, Charlie is loyal, gentle, affectionate, and full of sunshine.

She loves giving kisses, snuggling, wagging her tail, and following her trusted people. Charlie walks beautifully on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and enjoys running around the yard before curling up in a soft bed or pile of blankets. She is not especially interested in toys and prefers love, safety, and companionship.

Charlie would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home without young children or cats. She has done well with some dogs but needs time to become comfortable with other pets.
