Tanuki

Tanuki is a delightful 69-pound, approximately 12-14-year-old Akita mix who is ready to bring a whole lot of love into your home! He was surrendered because it was thought he wouldn't move, but it turned out he was suffering from lumbar spondylosis, arthritis, and heartworm disease. After being brought into rescue, his heartworms were treated, and he began pain management.

Tanuki's transformation has been nothing short of remarkable! He is now happy, comfortable, and living with a renewed zest for life. He loves soaking up affection and returning it tenfold. He's wonderfully polite with other dogs and we suspect he would be just as easygoing with cats. His two favorite activities are splashing in a pool and playing fetch!

Ideal Home

Tanuki would thrive in a home where he can continue to enjoy his new lease on life. He's good with kids and dogs.

Tanuki has been treated for heartworm disease and is currently on pain management for lumbar spondylosis and arthritis.
