Trout

Meet Trout! This handsome fellow is estimated to be around 2 years old and weighs 54 lbs. He miraculously escaped a euthanasia list at a local shelter thanks to his amazing foster mom, and we're all incredibly lucky she did! Trout is a surprisingly chill dog who enjoys a good hike or romp but truly excels at flopping onto the couch for peak relaxation. He can be a little shy at first, needing a moment to warm up to new people, but once he trusts you, he's a loyal companion. Trout is kennel-trained, potty-trained, walks beautifully on leash, and knows how to sit. He gets along well with his foster siblings, both big and small, and loves humans. While he's great with other dogs, his strong interest in squirrels and cats means we're not sure he'd be a good fit for a home with feline friends.

Ideal Home

Trout's dream home is one that includes him in life's adventures, whether that's camping, fishing trips, or cozy evenings by the fire.

Ongoing Health

Trout is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. He is fully vetted, neutered, and up-to-date on preventatives.

Training & Support

Trout is a very good boy who knows how to sit and walks well on a leash. He is kennel and potty trained. He absolutely despises taking medicine, and has a knack for spitting it out no matter how it's hidden!

Trout is being fostered in Houston, Texas. He is available for transport to many areas across the country and will be ready to travel to his forever home in mid-to-late July.
