Meet Knight! This stunning 50-pound Aussie mix is a tripod with the prettiest mismatched eyes, an incredibly sweet soul, and a resilience that makes him even more special. Though he's a tripod, he still loves to move, play, and enjoy life to the fullest! Knight can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men, but he warms up quickly once he feels safe. He's sensitive about his head and neck being touched initially, so he needs patient people who understand that building trust is key. Once he's comfortable, Knight is a wonderfully sweet and friendly boy who genuinely enjoys his people. He has a playful spirit and a sharp mind, though shelter stress has made it a bit difficult for him to fully show his true personality right now. Around other dogs, he shows interest and the desire to play, but often backs off when another dog engages. We suspect he'd love canine companionship, but he's still decompressing and would do best with a gentle, respectful dog friend who won't play too rough but can offer companionship and confidence.
Ideal Home
Knight's ideal home would include a physically fenced yard for him to move around safely and freely. A one-level home is preferred to make everyday life easier on his body. He needs a patient family who will give him time to settle in and older, respectful children. A gentle dog companion would be a huge bonus!
Ongoing Health
Knight is a tripod, meaning he has three legs. His new family should be mindful of this and set him up for long-term success.
Training & Support
Knight thrives with daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep his body and busy mind happy. He's a smart boy who enjoys having things to do and benefits from outlets for play and enrichment. While he shows mild interest in cats, a dog-savvy or independent cat would likely be the best fit.
