Cjay - Lover of Life

Goof, derp, lover of life! Cjay is a loving, loyal, and funny best friend who loves to trot alongside you with his tongue flopping. He’s a wonderful hybrid dog who enjoys the great outdoors, going for walks, playing ball, and even running next to you on a bike ride. When he’s not adventuring, Cjay is a chill couch potato who enjoys cozying up to watch TV. Everyone who meets Cjay falls in love with him; he’s a dog who truly doesn’t lack personality and will keep you laughing. Cjay has been fostered by an awesome trainer, so his new family will benefit from his in-depth board and train program. Cjay is the right dog for an experienced family who are strong leaders with kind hearts, ready to be consistent with his training to continue setting him up for success. Approved adopters will receive training sessions to ensure a smooth transition. Cjay’s favorite thing to do is play ball while rolling in the grass at the same time – talk about innovation!

Ideal Home

Cjay is not a fan of strangers approaching him for head pats; he prefers proper introductions, with his favorite way to meet a new friend being a high-five for a treat! He prefers calm, respectful dogs with slow, proper introductions. He does not like super high-energy, jumpy dogs in his face and is not afraid to tell them to back off. Cjay lives with cats and even plays with one of them, but gradual introductions are best. He lives with a girl around 12 years old and can do well with kids who understand boundaries. Cjay would do best in a calm, structured home with someone who is a strong leader with a kind heart, maintains consistency with training, and has experience with big, protective breeds or is eager to learn. He needs a home where someone is active and either home a lot or likes taking their dog along, as Cjay loves to join in on adventures. If other dogs are in the home, they should be calm, respectful, and trained, or the family should be willing to train them to play by the same rules as Cjay. Cjay could also thrive as the only dog in the home.

Ongoing Health

Cjay is approximately 10 years old and weighs around 86 pounds. He has a sensitive tummy, which is managed with high-quality food and treats, and by avoiding poultry. He sometimes experiences dry eyes, which are well-managed with eyedrops. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Cjay was fostered by a balanced trainer and behaviorist, completing a long-term advanced board and train program, and is now a super-trained dog with a strong skillset and Canine Good Citizen certification. His trainer will teach his new family everything Cjay knows to ensure consistency in his new home. He is crate-trained and will come with his own Impact crate.
