Whitney Joy is one of those dogs that feels impossible not to love the second you meet her. Between her giant happy smile, soft soulful eyes, and ridiculously velvety bunny-rabbit-soft fur, she has this personality that instantly pulls people in. And we HAVE to talk about the little ridge of fur running down the middle of her back because it is honestly one of the coolest cutest things ever and somehow makes her even more unique. Whitney Joy has that happy friendly Lab-like personality people adore, but there's also something really gentle and sweet about her that makes her stand out in her own way. She's playful, affectionate, goofy, and full of that easy feel-good energy that makes everyday life more fun just by having her around. She is believed to be a Lab mix, approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 52 lbs. Whitney is dog friendly and has done great with all the dogs we have introduced to her. She has been around dogs with all different temperaments and sizes. She also met our house cat Biggie and met him appropriately and was very respectful around him. Whitney also did really well with a 5-year-old child she met.
Ideal Home
Whitney would do best in a home with another dog that enjoys companionship, playful adventures, and fun little games of chase. If you don't have another dog though, that's completely okay too, as Whitney does not rely on another dog to feel comfortable or confident. Her ideal home would have a backyard where she can zoom around, play with her toys, and sunbathe.
Ongoing Health
Whitney is a rescue dog and, with any rescue, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. There may even be a possibility that she may even be part Rhodesian Ridgeback!
Training & Support
Whitney loves treats and will do anything for a tasty snack! She already knows how to sit and the down command. She walks generally well on a leash, and is crate and potty trained too. Whitney will pull every now and then on a leash out of excitement, but with structured leash walks and consistency, this little lady will be walking like a princess more consistently. When meeting brand new dogs or people in unfamiliar environments though, Whitney can be a tiny bit shy at first and is not usually the type to immediately jump into the middle of things. She tends to take a minute to observe, get comfortable, and feel things out before fully opening up socially. But once she settles in, her happy playful personality comes right out.
