About Annie
Annie is a sweet, spunky Shih Tzu and poodle mix puppy who is about 3-4 months old and currently weighs 7 lbs. She's estimated to reach around 20 lbs when fully grown. Annie is affectionate, loving, and absolutely adores being doted on by her humans. She's naturally curious and confident, always the first to investigate new things. Annie is a social butterfly who loves meeting new people and making furry friends. Her friendly and social nature makes her a wonderful pup for an active family who enjoys including their dog in everyday life. She's adaptable and enjoys exploring, making her a great companion for family adventures. Annie is happy as long as she's with her humans, whether she's playing with other dogs, cuddling, or entertaining herself with toys. She has a perfect balance of playful energy and a laid-back cuddle bug vibe, enjoying both active play and relaxing on the couch. She also does well entertaining herself when her foster mom works from home.
Ideal Home
Annie would thrive in a variety of homes. She'd love an active family that enjoys walks, outdoor adventures, and including their dog in daily activities. Equally, she'd be happy with a family who enjoys cozy evenings at home filled with snuggles. A fenced yard for her to run and play in would be wonderful for her exercise and mental stimulation. Annie would also thrive in a home with another playful, friendly dog and children to play and cuddle with. She would be equally happy as an "only child" receiving all the love and attention. She would prefer no public dog parks. Annie would love for her human to work from home or have a hybrid schedule, but she cannot go more than 8 hours without playtime and potty breaks, so a dog sitter or daycare is recommended if you have longer workdays occasionally.
Ongoing Health
Annie is starting to go through a teething phase.
Training & Support
Annie is kennel trained and potty trained, and has started on leash training. She sleeps in her kennel at night and naps in it during the day with the door open. She alerts her foster family when she needs to go outside by circling at the back door. It is recommended to use a doggy door bell to help her learn to notify you when she needs to go outside. She needs a consistent schedule and to be taken out every few hours initially until she adjusts to a new environment, but she picks up new schedules quickly. Annie can be wiggly when excited and picked up, so she would do best with older children experienced with smaller breeds who know how to handle her carefully. Since she is starting to teeth, her humans will need to keep a watchful eye to ensure she doesn't chew on human toys. Annie is friendly towards cats and would do well in a home with a cat that is comfortable around dogs and has lived with dogs before, as she is a playful puppy. She would probably be too much for a senior dog not used to puppy energy.
