Koda 101125

Koda is a handsome Shepherd/Border Collie mix with an estimated DOB of 06/07/2025, making him about a year old. He's a male, neutered, and weighs around 70 lbs. Koda was rescued from Mississippi and, despite a serious heart condition called congenital pulmonic stenosis, he approaches life with incredible enthusiasm and a whole lot of love to give. He had a balloon valvuloplasty in December, but unfortunately, it didn't yield the long-term results we were all hoping for. However, Koda doesn't let that slow him down! He's a gentle giant who adores people of all ages and is always excited to meet new friends on his walks. He's a natural at group events and has quickly bonded with his foster siblings. Koda has a big personality; he's talkative, curious, and wants to be involved in everything. Being a young Shepherd mix, he's full of energy and would benefit from guidance to help him settle. He's a smart, food-motivated boy who thrives on mental stimulation from puzzle toys and games.

Ideal Home

Koda would thrive in a home that can provide him with plenty of mental enrichment and guidance. While he loves other dogs and is doing well with cats, he may need a little time to adjust to smaller dogs. He would also do best with a cat who is savvy and can set boundaries.

Ongoing Health

Koda has congenital pulmonic stenosis, a heart condition. He underwent a balloon valvuloplasty in December that unfortunately did not work as hoped.

Training & Support

Koda can pull a bit on the leash due to his excitement to greet everyone. He is 100% housebroken and does well in his crate, including overnight. He's smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn, making him a great candidate for training and puzzle toys.
