Tess

Tess is a sweet 12-year-old hound mix who is currently in a long-term foster home. She was rescued from a shelter in Arkansas back in 2017 and adopted into a loving family. Unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances, she found her way back to us in August 2024. Since her return, Tess has been brought up-to-date on all her medical care, has lost a significant amount of weight, and is patiently waiting for her forever home. She's an easy-going girl who enjoys lounging in the sun but still has plenty of energy for walks and playtime. Tess is house-trained, past her chewing phase, and doesn't suffer from separation anxiety, making her a flexible companion for any lifestyle.

Tess would thrive in a quiet home away from the hustle and bustle of shelter life.

Ongoing Health

Tess is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative, and on monthly prevention. She has a stable condition of arthritis for which she takes daily NSAIDs. She also has a basal cell tumor on her back and other benign lumps and bumps, none of which are currently causing her issues. She has some lung scarring from a previous heartworm infection, which may cause her to pant a bit more than usual, but her condition is stable. She is currently completing a 1-month course of Doxycycline for an Anaplasma infection.

Training & Support

Tess is a resource guarder and may growl or snap if bothered while eating or chewing on a bone.
