Pearlie is a 5-year-old, 50lb spayed female pittie mix with a striking snowy coat, soulful eyes, and a heart that's learning to feel safe again. Once too scared to come out of her kennel, she now trots out with growing confidence and is starting to show her affectionate, silly, and deeply loyal personality. She loves her stuffies, enjoys giving kisses, and bonds deeply with her people. Pearlie has come a long way and will need a patient, understanding home to continue her journey. She can be fearful of strangers, likely due to past abuse, but with time and a gentle approach, she's steadily gaining confidence. She is also nervous in the car and a bit scared of the dark outside.
Ideal Home
Pearlie would do best in a calmer environment where she can continue to decompress and feel secure at her own pace. She needs a patient, understanding home that moves at her pace and celebrates her progress. Supervision is recommended with smaller children due to her tendency to get jumpy when excited.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions are mentioned. She is spayed.
Training & Support
Pearlie is fully house-trained and does great in a crate. Leash walking is a work in progress and will require consistency and patience. She can be socially unsure with other dogs, sometimes ignoring or barking, especially during introductions. Slow, structured meet-and-greets are important. On leash, she may react similarly but is improving daily. She needs slow, structured introductions to new people due to her fearfulness.
