Matcha

Meet Matcha, a delightful Boxer mix estimated to be around 1-2 years old and weighing about 40 lbs. This sweet girl was found abandoned in a car and was dangerously underweight. Thankfully, she's now healthy and learning what a wonderful life looks like! Even with her tough start, Matcha is a happy, loving, and carefree pup who adores playing with other dogs and snuggling under blankets. Her absolute favorite things are toys, especially those with squeakers, so be prepared for some fun fluff messes! She's learning to leave shoes and pillows alone, and is generally a good girl.

Ideal Home

Matcha would likely do best in a home with older children due to some of her puppy tendencies. She would enjoy having another dog to play with, but it's not a requirement. She can be fearful of new people, particularly men, and may need some time to warm up.

Ongoing Health

Matcha is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines, and current on heartworm, flea, and tick prevention.

Training & Support

Matcha has some fear-based reactivity when meeting new people and tends to be more fearful of men, possibly due to past abuse. With patience, treats, or a new toy, she can become a best friend. She is crate trained and potty trained, but she enjoys jumping over baby gates. Vet visits can be challenging for her, often requiring muzzling, calming medication, and mild sedation, but with time and positive experiences, she may overcome her fears.
