Gunner is a handsome 3-year-old, 50-pound black and tan hound mix with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure! He was rescued from a small-town dog pound and is now ready to find his forever home. Gunner is a smart and well-behaved boy who enjoys human attention, playing with toys, and wrestling with his doggy friends. He's even crate-trained and comes when called. He's also a pro at car rides and is surprisingly good about bath time! Because it gets so hot in Texas, Gunner is a big fan of indoor naps on the couch, but he'll happily pop outside for potty breaks and playtime with his pals.
Ideal Home
Gunner would love a home where he can get plenty of affection and playtime. He's a hound, so he's prone to barking at passersby and critters he spots outside. He's also been known to counter-surf and raid the garbage if given the chance, so a home that can help him curb these hound-like tendencies would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Gunner is neutered, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. He has been treated for heartworms and is now heartworm-negative. He is up-to-date on monthly heartworm and flea prevention.
Training & Support
Gunner is a smart boy who has mastered crate training and responding to commands like "come." He does bark at people and other animals he sees outside and is known to counter-surf and get into the trash. Continued positive reinforcement and consistent training will help him succeed in his new home.
