Layla the Dog Lovin Doll

Meet Layla, a stunning 5-year-old pup with a gorgeous, light brown coat and big, upright ears that practically demand ear scratches. While we think she might be a Shepherd-Pitty mix, one thing is certain: she's one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. Layla is a gentle soul who takes her time warming up to new people, but once she trusts you, her tail wags, her eyes sparkle, and she showers you with quiet, devoted affection. She's the kind of dog who will curl up next to you, soak up pets, and remind you that love doesn't always need words. She's also a doggy superstar and thrives when she has a canine companion to hang out with. She is social, friendly, and polite, happily snuggling, chilling, or walking side-by-side with her doggy buddy. Layla is also cat-tolerant, giving kitties their space, and would likely do best with older children around 8 and up due to her sensitivity to new people and touch.

Ideal Home

Layla is happiest in a home where she can decompress, feel safe, and let her personality shine at her own pace. She needs a home that understands her gentle, sensitive nature and will give her the time she needs to trust new people. A calm, aloof male dog in her forever home would be ideal, someone who can help her feel safe and confident, and give her the friendship she adores. She is looking for a bestie for life, not a playmate for zoomies. If your kitty minds their own business, Layla will do the same! If your household has kiddos, a kid test is easy enough, so just let us know; Layla just wants everyone to move at her pace. She may need a little leash confidence in new places before apartment life is fully comfortable, but once she's settled, she'll be a quiet, loving companion anywhere.

Ongoing Health

Layla is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, flea prevention, and a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable. She has also been heartworm tested.

Training & Support

Layla may need a little leash confidence in new places. Our on-site trainers assess and modify behavior as needed, creating individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families, including crate training, potty training, and leash walking. She also has access to trainers on staff for behavioral testing and information.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, and connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs.
