Meet the breeder
Meet Judi’s Pembroke Welsh Corgi Puppies. I am a retired educator that has 9 years breeding experience. I have studied research-based best practices for raising puppies during their early weeks. That included information on early sensitizing, early neurological stimulation exercises, and the protocols of Puppy Culture (with research from Ohio State). I truly believe the success of a puppy becoming a good family member starts in those first few weeks. I have raised over 80 puppies and keep in touch via a private Facebook page where owners can “meet” each other and share pictures of their corgis. I also post memories that come up from litters. Very well received by owners. I have had two puppies with a torn ACL. One had a digestive issues. I asked owner to please ask vet if this could be genetic. None were. Out of the many many puppies I’ve raised I have only lost two. One at birth and one at two days (she was born extremely small-vet said that her internal organs had not developed). Puppies are welped in my home and remain there until they are old enough and weather appropriate to enjoy outside recesses. Puppies get used to all the household noises and also outdoor things like strollers and bikes near them. I have six grandchildren and friends with kids. After I teach them proper handling and puppies are old enough they become very acclimated to kids. I even invite various friends who may represent the various people pups may come across. Ie. People with beards, glasses, both genders, etc. I also take them camping if weather is warm so they get to experience traveling and noises in a campground. I have DNA tested both parents and they will not throw puppies that are at risk for DM, VWD1, or EIC (exercise induced collapse). Even though puppies won’t be at risk for DM, I still DNA test each puppy and provide the results for new owners.
