Meet Chadwick!
Chadwick is a 7-year-old, 8-pound Miniature Poodle with a soft white coat and an even softer heart. He came to us as a stray with collar scars, and it's clear that the world can still feel a bit big and scary for him, but not when he's with his favorite person. He's very interested in the cat in his foster home and tends to want to chase them, so he'll need more work in that area. He is learning that other dogs are fine but wants to be the center of attention. Chadwick is learning that new places, people, and animals can be a fun adventure, but he's very fearful of new surroundings and unfamiliar experiences. He needs to use a harness only and is learning that a leash and walks are okay. He'll need a patient, understanding adopter who is willing to let him move at his own pace. Trust isn't something Chadwick gives away immediately, but for the person willing to earn it, the reward is truly special. Once you have his trust, Chadwick's eyes will look at you with adoration, love, and most importantly, devotion. Beneath his timid exterior is a sweet soul who wants to feel safe and loved. As he grows more comfortable, Chadwick is the affectionate companion he's meant to be. He is an incredible cuddle buddy who loves nothing more than being close to his favorite person(s). He is learning that separations are still safe and foster siblings can be fun to hang with. He would be excellent as your only adoring fan, or with guidance and consistency, it's okay to share you with others. Chadwick isn't looking for perfection – he's looking for kindness, patience, and someone who understands that healing takes time. If you want a soft, lap-loving, adoring furbaby and you have a big heart, you may be exactly who this darling, shy boy has been waiting for. Could you be the one to help Chadwick write his happy ending?
