Rex is a joyful, playful, and energetic Cattle Dog mix, approximately 3 years old and weighing 35 lbs. He was rescued at just 2 months old and has spent his young life waiting in a shelter for his forever family. Rex is sweet and enjoys being near his people without being overly clingy. He has a fun personality and is always ready for play, exploration, and new adventures. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and people. Rex is intelligent and eager to learn, walks well on a leash, and is crate trained. His mom was a street rescue, and he's the last of his litter still waiting for a home. After growing up in a shelter, Rex is ready for a family that can offer him structure, patience, love, and an active lifestyle.
Ideal Home
An active and loving family that enjoys outdoor activities like running, hiking, and including him in everyday adventures. A home with a fenced backyard is required. Adopters should be willing to give a rescued pet at least 3 months to show their best personality and have experience with dog behavior and training. Patience is key for this rescued pup.
Ongoing Health
Rex has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, and has been dewormed. He has also tested negative for heartworm and has a 4DX test certificate. He is up-to-date on monthly preventive treatment with Nexgard Spectra (fleas, ticks, and heartworm). A health certificate and vaccine booklet are available.
Training & Support
Rex is not house-trained. Adopters should understand that a lot of effort goes into the rehabilitation of rescued pets, and house-training may be a process. Families should have high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies and an open mind regarding the behaviors of street animals that need protection and education.

Transporation
Rex is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for a fee of $400.00, to be paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure.
