Despite being the big guy of his litter, Mammoth is a softy at heart. This boy loves nothing more than to be near his people (and any resident pups!). After just a couple days in his foster home, he has been loyally trotting behind the humans and playfully engaging with the resident dog. He loves to play, especially chasing a ball! He is particularly good at timing the last leap in the air as he chases the ball so he lands perfectly atop it. He's already bringing it back and dropping it at your feet to be thrown again. He will make a superb fetch partner!
Beyond fetching, he loves to persuade his foster brother (a 50 lb husky mix) to play, with varying results. Thankfully, Mammoth is a pretty quick learner and has taken redirection from the adult dog quite well, learning when to leave another pup alone. He has been known to lay down with a loud sigh to indicate his begrudging acceptance of no play time when told.
While he's not fully potty trained yet, he is doing fantastically! Grass is definitely his preferred potty place, and he will usually go to the bathroom within minutes of going outside. It won't be long before he's got this potty training thing down!
He's also taking nicely to his kennel, although he very much prefers that the kennel be near his people; if it gets too far away he gets lonely and scared and quite vocal. After having his kennel moved into closer proximity at night to the people and other dog, he happily snoozes in it. All in all, Mammoth is a lovely little pup who shows a keen intelligence, typical puppy curiosity, and a desire to be with others (both human and dog!). With proper training and commitment to helping him learn what he's allowed to get into and not, he is going to make a truly lovely dog for some lucky person/family!
