Despite this horrific start, Wally has shown incredible resilience, forgiveness, and an amazing zest for life. He's been living with a wonderful dog trainer who has helped him learn manners and boundaries while keeping his goofy, happy, and fun-loving personality intact. He even loves scent work! Wally thrives with structure, leadership, and opportunities to use his body and brain. His love for water is legendary – lakes, pools, puddles, sprinklers – if it's wet, Wally wants in! Swimming brings him immense joy, and watching him play in the water is guaranteed to make you smile. Wally has also made great progress socially. While he can be selective with some dogs, he's capable of forming friendships with proper introductions and enjoys playing with his canine buddies, especially those who can hold their own in a wrestling match. In the past, Wally thought all items belonged to him, but he's mostly overcome this with commands like "drop it" and "leave it." His manners have improved tremendously; he walks beautifully on leash, settles nicely in his crate, and is a wonderful companion on adventures. He's confident, social, and eager to be involved in his people's lives. Most importantly, Wally has a huge heart and loves people of all ages, winning over everyone he meets, including regulars at a local coffee shop.
