Hi, I'm Marco! I'm a 1.5-year-old Shepherd mix looking for a fresh start and a family of my own. I came to the shelter as a stray in pretty rough shape, extremely underweight. Despite everything, I've stayed friendly and loving, always happy to make new human friends! Treats are my love language these days, and being food-motivated makes me eager to learn, so I think I'll be a lot of fun to train. Life at the shelter has been stressful, so we're not sure if I'm fully potty trained, but with a consistent schedule, patience, and positive reinforcement, I'm sure I'll catch on quickly! What I need most is someone willing to see past where I started and focus on where I'm headed.
Ideal Home
I'm still a young guy and while I haven't been around children here, the staff expects I'd do well with respectful kiddos. I haven't met any cats at the shelter yet, but we'll update this once we learn more. I haven't officially been introduced to other dogs yet, but staff thinks I should do well with proper introductions.
Ongoing Health
Marco did test positive for Lyme Disease. We have started him on his month-long treatment of Doxycycline and he has been given a Lyme Vaccine. He should receive a Lyme Vaccine yearly and be kept current on tick/heartworm prevention year round. He is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and up to date on vaccines & monthly preventatives.
Training & Support
Because I went so long without enough food, treats are basically my love language these days! The good news is that being food motivated makes me eager to learn, and I think I'll be a lot of fun to train. I may need some help with potty training, but with a consistent schedule, patience, and positive reinforcement, I'm sure I'll catch on quickly!

- Once submitted, staff will review your application during open hours. Please allow 24-36 hours for staff to review.
- If approved, we'll reach out to schedule a meet and greet!
- If you have other dogs, they'll need to come with you.
- Some dogs may require all members of the household to come as well.
- If it's a good fit, you may take your new best friend home that same day!
- We also offer a 2-week foster-to-adopt trial period to ensure it's the right match for everyone!
- Adoption fee is $100.
Transportation
Marco is located at Fulton County Animal Center. We can transport him to Wags for approved adopters.
