Rascal is a 13-year-old, 15-pound male who is looking for a family to spend his golden years with. He's a lively, loving boy with spurts of spunky energy, but he's definitely a senior who enjoys a more relaxed pace of life. Rascal is a perfect blend for someone looking for a companion who doesn't require long, strenuous walks or constant playtime. While he's not ready to retire completely, he's past the point of parkouring off the couch. Rascal still has a zest for life, enjoys following his people around, and loves to "talk" and share his opinions – it's one of his specialties! He's a senior guy who appreciates a slower pace.
Ideal Home
Rascal would not be a good fit for an apartment. He's looking for a home with a fenced yard and someone who is home more often than not, rather than someone who works away from home 40+ hours per week.
Ongoing Health
Rascal is fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. He recently had good bloodwork and a dental cleaning. He is on an over-the-counter supplement and Gabapentin as needed for an old, healed pelvic injury. He was hit by a school bus a couple of years ago, and while his pelvis healed remarkably well, his gait can look a little goofy due to the structural changes.
Training & Support
Rascal is potty trained and is currently working on crate training. He previously lived with an elderly owner who was home most of the time, so he is not used to being left alone for long periods or being crated. His foster is diligently working with him to help him overcome some separation anxiety and crate issues. As with any newly adopted dog, Rascal will be a flight risk initially.
