About Chance

Meet Chance! This sweet boy has absolutely no idea he's considered a hospice dog. He wakes up every morning excited to see his people, happy to tag along wherever the day leads, and completely convinced life is still full of good things. And that's because it is! Chance is living with advanced heart disease caused by years of untreated heartworm disease. While his medication is helping him feel great, his condition is terminal, and we can't tell you exactly how much time he has. It could be months, or he could surprise us. Dogs have a way of rewriting the rules. What we can promise is this: Every single day Chance has left deserves to be spent as someone's best friend. When he first came to us, his little body was filled with so much fluid that people thought he was pregnant. Neglect had stolen so much from him, but somehow it never stole his gentle spirit. Today, he's comfortable, happy, and loved. Now all that's missing is a family to call his own. We believe a terminal diagnosis should never take away a dog's chance at forever. Hospice dogs still deserve morning routines, neighborhood strolls, car rides, snacks they probably shouldn't have, and someone who's excited to see them every time they walk through the door. They deserve to belong. Hospice adoption isn't about counting the days a dog has left. It's about making the days they do have count. If your heart has room for one of the most deserving little underdogs you'll ever meet, Chance is ready to spend every moment reminding you just how special an ordinary day can be.
