Meet Ponderosa, or Pondsy for short! This handsome, almost-2-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix is a bundle of pure sunshine, goofiness, and the "goodest boy" energy you could imagine. Weighing around 60 pounds, Pondsy is packed with love, wiggles, and joy. His soft, shiny black coat and big, warm brown eyes are sure to melt your heart. When he greets his favorite people, get ready for his signature "Pondsy Wiggle" and a tail that goes into overdrive, followed by a happy plop for belly rubs. Pondsy makes every day an adventure, whether he's hiking, walking, or napping in the car – he's just happy to be included. He's a curious and silly pup at heart, always ready for fun, and transitions from an amazing hiking buddy to a total snuggle bug seamlessly.
Ideal Home
Pondsy would thrive in a home without cats, as they are too interesting for him. He can also be overwhelmed by small children, so a home with teenagers (13+) and adults would be best. He would love a yard to run and play in, but could adapt to apartment living if he receives enough exercise and mental stimulation. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well with a friendly, medium-energy female dog, but would also be happy as an only pet.
Ongoing Health
Pondsy has undergone leg surgery and physical therapy and has come out stronger than ever. His back leg has a unique character now, but it doesn't slow down his zest for running, playing, and zooming.
Training & Support
Pondsy is described as a sweet, silly, loyal, and loving companion. He bonds deeply with his people and will follow them around like a devoted fan.
