A little about them
Tadpole is an affectionate, playful, cuddly 5-year-old who has excellent house manners and loves car rides, toys, tennis balls, rope games, and spending time with his person. He is sensitive and still building confidence, but he is responsive to redirection and communicates his boundaries clearly.
Ideal Home
Tadpole would do best with older, respectful children who understand dog body language and give him space. He is cat friendly overall, though he has shown discomfort when approached while deeply asleep and should be fed separately from cats as a precaution. A quiet home and patient adopter who can help him gain confidence would suit him well. A dog meet-and-greet is required because he has some anxiety around dogs and needs additional socialization.
Ongoing Health
Tadpole is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested. He receives monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Tadpole is house trained and knows sit, drop, go lay down, bring it over here, and go get your baby. He enjoys controlled tug games and is learning impulse control. He is willing to enter his crate, may cry briefly, and settles with reassurance. He is not destructive and was able to settle after being left alone for a few hours. He is a picky eater and currently enjoys dry food with a freeze-dried beef topper. He is sensitive to sudden noises and thunderstorms and will need continued confidence-building, appropriate boundaries, and space around things that make him uncomfortable.
