Reagan is a one-year-old, 105-pound Anatolian Shepherd who came to us from a challenging situation involving a large number of dogs. While the dogs were provided with basic care, they missed out on crucial socialization and everyday life experiences. Reagan, however, has emerged from this with a remarkably positive outlook and is the most confident of the group. He's still learning about household routines and the quirks of human inventions, but he's making great progress. Reagan enjoys people, seeks attention, and is more engaged than we anticipated given his background. He's not a "project" dog in the daunting sense; he's a young, giant breed who needs a patient, structured, and common-sense approach. He has the sweet, friendly temperament and desire to learn that will help him become a wonderful house dog.
Ideal Home
A home with a confident, friendly resident dog would be beneficial for Reagan, though he's not as reliant on this as some others from his previous situation. He is good with other dogs and cats. Due to his size and ongoing learning, we recommend a home with children over 10 years old. Reagan is expected to be well over 100 pounds when fully grown, so his adopter must be prepared for a large livestock guardian breed with a strong personality and independent judgment. A securely fenced yard is a must.
Ongoing Health
Reagan is a healthy young dog with no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Reagan is learning about household routines and needs guidance on how to navigate everyday life. With consistency, kindness, and patience, he is sure to become a loyal and deeply bonded companion.
