Ruthie is an affectionate, smart, and playful 8-year-old girl who is looking for a calm, loving home where she can continue to thrive at her own pace. Once she feels safe and settled, Ruthie becomes an incredibly loyal cuddle companion with lots of personality and love to give. She loves long walks and hikes, car rides, cuddles, lick mats, chew toys, and balls. Ruthie is motivated by treats like liver treats, cheese, cucumbers, and apples, and she enjoys learning new tricks.
Ideal Home
Ruthie would do best in a suburban or rural home where life is a little quieter. A detached home with a fenced yard would be ideal, though she has adjusted well to condo living with patient guidance. She would do well with teenagers, adults, or semi-active seniors who can offer her companionship, cuddles, structure, and daily walks. She is moderately active and enjoys adventures and playtime, but is equally happy curling up for a nap. A home where she can be the only pet is essential, as Ruthie prefers having all the attention to herself and feels most comfortable without other animals around. Ruthie is not a good fit for homes with other dogs, cats, or small pets, busy households with young children, families wanting to frequent dog parks or highly social dog environments, very busy downtown/city lifestyles without time for a slow adjustment period, or homes looking for a low-interaction dog.
