About Rex

Rex is a delightful, playful, and incredibly smart dog with a heart full of personality and wrinkles for days! He's estimated to be between 2–4 years old and weighs about 60 lbs. Rex absolutely loves to play, whether it's with tennis balls, engaging in a game of tug-o-war, or bursting into zoomies around the yard. His foster mom describes him as one of the most playful dogs she's ever met! After playtime, he transforms into a devoted companion, happily following his humans from room to room, lounging nearby, and sleeping close to his people. He forms deep bonds and truly cherishes being a part of everyday life.

Ideal Home

Rex adores his people and enjoys meeting new ones. He would likely do best with dog-savvy teenagers who understand respectful boundaries. He can become hyper-focused on lights and reflections, so a quieter home or lower traffic environment is recommended. A securely fenced yard is a must for safe zoomies, and a home with property where he can simply enjoy being a dog would be even better. He would thrive in a home without cats and with an adopter who understands that squirrels and bunnies will be considered his personal mission in life. A more homebody-style lifestyle rather than busy public outings is also preferred.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions are mentioned in the description.

Training & Support

Rex is crate trained and potty trained. He is eager to learn and is already working on commands like "stay" and "come." He needs a dog-savvy adopter committed to continuing healthy redirection, structure, enrichment, and routine to help him build confidence and healthy habits. While he may do best as an only dog, the possibility of another dog could be considered with proper introductions, patience, and experienced guidance.
