Meet Max! This intelligent and playful pup has quickly stolen the hearts of our staff and volunteers. While Max might seem a little stoic at first, his demeanor quickly changes when there's a toy in sight. He's a true connoisseur of playtime, with a particular fondness for tennis balls, stuffed toys, and anything that offers a satisfying squeak, crunch, or unique texture.
His foster parent had this to say about him: "Max is an absolute dream! He is such a gentle giant. He settles very fast after getting some play time and is quite content. He sat and laid down right away in the car. While he did bark at one dog we passed immediately upon leaving the shelter, he then settled down and was content in the backseat. He enjoyed a nice evening walk and slept soundly on the bed, even if he did steal a bit of space! He wasn't bothered by loud construction noise and has a growing desire for affection, enjoying belly rubs and paw-holding. Max is an easy, loose-leash walker and was easily redirected when encountering other dogs. He's also happy to nap after some playtime and will happily come stand between your legs when called."
Ideal Home
Max would thrive in a home where he gets plenty of playtime and affection. He enjoys sleeping on the bed and can be a bit of a bed hog, so a family that appreciates a snuggle buddy would be a great fit.
Ongoing Health
Max has no known health conditions mentioned.
Training & Support
Max is a quick learner and already knows "sit" and "lay down." He is an easy loose-leash walker and is easily redirected when encountering other dogs. He may need continued positive reinforcement for any dog reactivity.
