// // Hank is a 2-year-old, 55 lb. Standard Poodle with a sweet, affectionate personality and a big heart for people. He has done wonderfully with both men and women and has been polite and well-mannered around the children he has met, though his exposure to kids has been limited. His history with cats is unknown. Hank is fully potty trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and has done well being left home alone for a few hours at a time. He walks nicely on leash, rides calmly in the car, and knows basic commands like sit and down. Like many Standard Poodles, Hank is intelligent and thrives with both physical exercise and mental enrichment. He currently does well with three daily walks and activities such as training sessions, sniffing games, and puzzle-solving. After his exercise and enrichment, he's happy to relax and spend time with his people. Hank is very human-oriented and loves affection... he’s happiest when he's near his family and getting plenty of pets. Because Hank was recovering from kennel cough when he entered foster care, his interactions with other dogs have been somewhat limited. However, he has shown friendly interest in dogs on walks and has not displayed reactivity, barking, or lunging. As a Standard Poodle, Hank will require regular coat maintenance. His coat was clipped short by the shelter, but adopters should be prepared for routine brushing and grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. Hank previously suffered a fractured leg before entering rescue. Follow-up X-rays confirmed that the injury is fully healed and not causing him any pain or limitations. If you're looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who wants to be involved in every part of your day, Hank may be your perfect match! For additional photos, videos, and updates from Hank's foster home, check out his Instagram: @temporarytailssd. He is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on all his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300.
