Vanna

Meet Vanna! This approximately 4-year-old German Shepherd mix is a true "velcro dog" with a heart full of love to give. She's playful, affectionate, and happiest when she's by your side, whether you're lounging at home or out on an adventure. Vanna has a medium energy level and would thrive in an active household. She enjoys games of fetch, going for walks, and is a great car companion. She's been trusted to roam freely in her foster home and shows no destructive tendencies, always preferring to be near her favorite humans.

Ideal Home

Vanna would do best as the only dog in the home. She can be playful with very well-matched, larger dogs (around 90 lbs or more) if there are no resources to guard or compete over, and she's good at reading other dogs' cues. She's not a fan of smaller dogs and can sometimes be reactive on leash depending on how other dogs behave towards her. Vanna is reserved with strangers initially but warms up to become friendly. She may do well with older children (12+) who can respect her space and boundaries.

Ongoing Health

Vanna has experienced significant trauma and is actively working through challenges. She has some resource guarding issues with food, toys, and people.

Training & Support

Vanna will need continued support with leash manners and is still polishing up her potty training with occasional accidents. She is crate trained. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Vanna has so much potential to continue growing and learning.

Transportation

Vanna is located in Texas and will be transported to her adoptive home once approved. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
