Your Woodland Adventure Buddy with a Snuggly Side
Dewey is a 2-year-old, 45-50 pound Carolina Dog mix who is the perfect blend of outdoorsman and devoted companion. He loves to hike and explore, but also enjoys curling up with you for coffee. Dewey is incredibly smart and thrives when his brain is engaged. He enjoys games like hide-and-seek, "find it" with treats, and solving puzzles. Sniffing is his favorite pastime, whether he's exploring the yard on a long line or taking in all the scents on a woodland hike. He's particularly joyful in the snow, bounding through it with pure delight. Dewey has a playful, goofy side and now proudly carries his squeaky ball and enjoys a good game of tug. He is happily occupied with collagen rolls and sturdy chews.
Inside the home, Dewey thrives with structure. He waits patiently at the door before walks, is crate trained and settles well, enjoys relaxing on his place mat, and loves cozy morning snuggles. He follows a consistent daily routine beautifully.
Ideal Home
Dewey would thrive in a calm, structured environment with an experienced adopter. A yard for sniffing and enrichment is a big plus. He is recommended for a home without young children and with children 10 years and older.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned.
Training & Support
Dewey experiences leash reactivity toward passing dogs, people, and bicycles. His foster has been working with him, and he is improving, but he will need a confident, dog-savvy adopter committed to continuing positive reinforcement training and mindful threshold management.
