Kenny is a joyful, people-loving 13-pound Shih Tzu mix fostered in Virginia. At one year old, he is playful, wiggly, toy-chewing, and ready for a loving fresh start. Despite earlier concerns, Kenny is not blind and sees just fine.
Ideal Home
Kenny gets along with resident dogs and is learning polite play. He must be adopted into a cat-free home because he intensely focuses on and wants to chase cats. He has not lived with children and should join adults or a family with older children. He would thrive with structure, patience, and lots of love.
Ongoing Health
Kenny's ear infections have been treated, Giardia has resolved, and his skin is improving, though it remains somewhat flaky. His bloodwork and vision are normal, and his teeth are lovely. He has bow-legged front legs, congenital hip dysplasia, and a left cruciate injury. A Librela injection has improved his comfort and stamina, and he will need monthly Librela and ongoing veterinary partnership for mobility concerns. He can manage a few steps but should be carried on full staircases.
Training & Support
Kenny is housetrained and crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, walks well on leash, and is a great car buddy. Squirrels can turn him into a determined little explorer. He enjoys toys, rope tugging, peanut butter, small treats, and chicken jerky. He is a shy eater who waits for his humans to step away before eating.
