Mabel is a 2.5-year-old, 64-pound pit bull mix with a heart as big as her love for snuggles. She was found abandoned and scared but has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate girl who adores people. Her favorite activities include cuddling up close, showering her humans with kisses, going on car rides, and being the center of attention. Mabel is a happy, outgoing dog who is wonderful with children, and has shown particular gentleness and patience with an autistic child in her foster home. She enjoys playing with other medium to large dogs and can sometimes get a bit overexcited during play, but she is learning her cues. While she can pull on leash when excited to greet other dogs, she is making good progress with her manners. She would likely do well with a playful, tolerant dog companion or as the sole canine royalty of her home. Mabel is generally not destructive when left unsupervised and prefers to sleep cuddled up with her people rather than in a crate. She may need a little extra patience and support during vet visits and procedures.
Ideal Home
Mabel's ideal home is one filled with love, cuddles, comfy couches, and people who appreciate a loyal, affectionate dog with a goofy personality and a huge heart. She would likely do best in a home without cats.
Ongoing Health
Mabel is spayed and vaccinated. She may appreciate a little extra patience and support during vet visits and procedures.
Training & Support
Mabel is still learning when playtime is over with other dogs and can sometimes pull on the leash when excited to greet them, but she is making great progress. She isn't a fan of crates and prefers to sleep with her people.
