Elmo

Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart full of love and a spirit of resilience. He came to us after an unfortunate incident where he was shot, and the bullet remains lodged near his spine. Thankfully, it has encapsulated and specialists agree that removal would be too risky. The good news is this doesn't define Elmo's future! He's healthy, comfortable, and expected to live a long, happy life. Elmo is sweet, quietly brave, and greets the world with trust and calm despite all he's been through.

Ideal Home

Elmo would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an adventure athlete to be a wonderful companion. He enjoys his walks, his people, and his canine friends. He has not lived with cats but showed mild interest, so dog-savvy cats would likely be fine. We recommend children over 10 or sturdy kids who understand Elmo's medical history and that he's not a pony.

Ongoing Health

Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine, which has encapsulated and is not recommended for removal due to risk. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable.

Training & Support

Elmo enjoys his people and is good with other dogs. He has a particular appreciation for a comfortable dog bed where he can fully relax.
