Josie Ella isn't your typical rescue dog, and that's exactly why someone out there is going to fall for her, hard. Josie is a peace-bringer, a quiet observer who is learning that the world can be a kind place. She's believed to be a pittie mix, approximately 3.5 years old and weighing 60 lbs. While she may not be a "cuddly" dog yet, she tolerates affection and enjoys resting her head on your legs. Josie is for the person who finds meaning in routine, gentle coexistence, and the "small wins" – a relaxed body, a soft glance, or a tail wag from across the room. She is highly motivated by food and takes treats very gently. Josie is a "dog's dog" and is currently fostered with a large, diverse pack of dogs and two teenagers. She is excellent with cats and other dogs. A home with at least one other dog is non-negotiable, as other dogs are essential to her confidence.

Josie is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Drop off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies for transportation. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
