Meet Phoenix, a brave and resilient Mexi-mix who has overcome incredible odds to become one of the happiest dogs you'll ever meet! Found in Ixtapa with severe burns and an injured paw, Phoenix has undergone months of dedicated care and healing. His transformation is remarkable; he's now a strong, joyful pup who absolutely adores toys, attention, and embarking on new adventures. In 2024, Phoenix was diagnosed with subcutaneous lymphoma. While it's considered terminal, he hasn't had any new tumors since August and continues to live life with full enthusiasm. You'd never guess he has cancer – he's active, healthy, and full of heart! He's a medium-energy adventure buddy who walks beautifully on leash, loves toys, people, and exploring. He's also good with dogs, though he prefers non-alpha males. Phoenix deserves to spend his remaining days in a loving home, not a shelter. Whether he has months or years ahead, he should spend them with someone who recognizes the incredible dog he is.

Transporation
Phoenix is currently located in Puerto Vallarta. Approved adopters are matched with flight companions traveling from Puerto Vallarta. You will meet them at the airport to welcome your new pup home. If a Canadian flight angel is unavailable, especially during May and June, dogs may need to fly into the US and be picked up at Peace Arch Park at the border. We have successfully facilitated many adoptions by volunteers bringing dogs to adopters at the border during the summer months.
