Steve

Steve was discovered outside the local shelter one morning, abandoned in a laundry basket filled with trash. He was severely underweight and neglected. The shelter staff reviewed security footage and saw a pickup truck pull up and three men leave him there. While the initial thought was that humane euthanasia might be the kindest option given his condition, Steve showed a will to live. When he heard the staff talking about him and realized they cared, he lifted his head as if to say, "I'm still here." Steve has seen a vet and is being treated for malnourishment and neglect. His toenails were so long they were curled into his paw pads. He has a recovery journey ahead, but he's getting stronger every day.

Ideal Home

Steve is still recovering and will need a patient and loving home that can provide him with the ongoing care he needs to fully regain his health.

Ongoing Health

Steve is currently being treated for malnourishment and neglect. He is underweight and his toenails require attention. He will need continued veterinary care as he recovers. His adoption donation includes spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip implantation and registration, collar, leash, and ID tag.

Training & Support

Steve is still in recovery and will benefit from a supportive environment that can help him build his strength and confidence.
