Meet Sunny!
Sunny is a handsome 9-year-old, 70lb neutered pittie mix who brings joy everywhere he goes. He's a playful, goofy boy with a huge heart and an infectious enthusiasm for life. Whether he's giving kisses, showing off his tricks, or playing with his favorite toys, Sunny is happiest when he's spending time with his people. Sunny has been living with a professional trainer and has an excellent foundation in obedience. He knows commands like sit, down, stay, place, and several fun movement tricks. He's fully house-trained, crate trained, and settles nicely in his kennel at night for 6-8 hours at a time. Because he's so food motivated, he's eager to learn and enjoys continuing his training.
Ideal Home
Sunny has a moderate energy level and would love a home that enjoys daily walks, playtime, and including him in family activities. He would do best with older, dog-savvy children (10+) who can help reinforce good manners and respect his boundaries, as he can get mouthy when excited. An active family or couple who will continue his training, provide structure, and shower him with the love and affection he thrives on would be perfect.

Training & Support
Sunny walks well on a loose leash, although he can become excited when he sees other dogs and may pull or lunge. With calm guidance and redirection, he quickly refocuses. When it comes to other dogs, Sunny is playful and energetic. He enjoys rough-and-tumble play with medium and large dogs, but because he plays enthusiastically and doesn't always recognize when another dog is ready for a break, he'll need slow, proper introductions and continued guidance. He doesn't love every dog he meets, so finding the right canine companion is important. While he'd do well with a balanced, tolerant dog, he'd also be perfectly happy soaking up all the attention as your one and only.

Transporation
Sunny is currently being fostered in Houston, TX and can be transported to an approved adopter wherever his perfect family may be. Transports run every few weeks and he will be on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time.
