Linda

Meet Linda!

Linda is a 9-year-old, spayed female chihuahua mix with a big personality packed into a small body. She came to us with a history of serious health issues, including a life-threatening uterine infection and morbid obesity. Thankfully, she was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, and with daily medication and a strict diet, she's already lost a significant amount of weight and is feeling much better. She's a complicated girl with a chihuahua attitude – she can be wary of strangers, dislikes being picked up, and prefers not to have hands in her face. However, she's warmed up to our staff and now follows them around, wagging her tail. Linda isn't a super cuddly or overly affectionate dog, but she does enjoy company on her own terms. She gets along well with other dogs and seems to have better dog skills than people skills.

Ideal Home

Linda would thrive in an adult-only home where she can be herself without pressure. She needs a family who understands her need for space and isn't bothered by an occasional "snark" or being told off.

Ongoing Health

Linda has hypothyroidism and requires daily medication. She is also working on maintaining a healthy weight, which is crucial for her long-term health and mobility.

Training & Support

Linda needs continued support with her weight management. She is not overly affectionate and prefers to initiate interactions, so her new family should respect her boundaries.
