Meet Michelle! This 3-year-old spayed female Staffordshire Terrier mix, weighing around 48 pounds, is a true gem looking for her forever family. Michelle was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter and is now thriving in a foster home in Houston, Texas, ready to transport to her approved adopter. She's incredibly friendly, affectionate, and social, and her playful energy is contagious! Michelle loves to nap and play with her doggy foster siblings, and while she can get a bit enthusiastic, she's great at reading their cues and adjusting her play.

Ideal Home

Michelle would thrive in a home with another friendly dog and a family that can offer her love, structure, and playtime. She's met children ages 8 and up and was sweet and loving, but due to her enthusiastic jumping, a home with kids 12+ or dog-savvy younger teens would be best. She would do great in an apartment or urban setting as long as she gets consistent exercise and enrichment. A secure yard or leash walks are a must, as she is an escape artist.

Michelle is a healthy girl who has been spayed and is up to date on vaccinations.

Training & Support

Michelle is fully housebroken and crate trained. She is very food motivated and learns quickly, but she can be a bit sneaky around food, so she is fed separately. She responds well to redirection. Michelle walks fairly well on leash but tends to pull; continued leash training will help her improve. She also loves to chew, so supervision and crate time when unsupervised are important.
