BB

Meet BB, a 1.5-year-old shepherd/pittie mix with a big personality and main-character energy. Originally named "Big Bertha," we affectionately call her "Boss Babe" because she's ready to be someone's center of attention after spending over 3 months in a shelter. BB might seem a little serious at first, but once you get to know her, you'll discover a playful, silly, and engaged companion who loves her people. Her play style is best described as "professional button-pusher," as she enjoys engaging with medium-to-large dogs. She takes corrections well and will adjust her approach, often wandering off or checking in with her human. BB is food and praise motivated, cooperative during baths and nail trims (though a little dramatic!), and unfazed by birds. She will chase a running cat but generally ignores calm cats.

Ideal Home

BB would do best with medium to large dog friends. Her interactions with small dogs are currently limited to behind a gate due to her enthusiastic play style.

Training & Support

BB is still working on leash manners, as she can be strong and excited when out for walks. She also exhibits some barrier reactivity, barking at dogs behind fences or in crates, but she does settle. Crate time is a work in progress; she will complain briefly before settling down after about 5 minutes. She may alert bark at people behind barriers but redirects easily and settles nicely. BB is not a beginner dog, but for someone who enjoys training, structure, and a dog with opinions and sparkle, she will be a fun and rewarding companion.
