Malouk

Meet Malouk, a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a heart full of love and a soul seeking quiet companionship. Malouk came to us after a difficult life change when his person passed away. He spent some time not receiving the care he deserved, so he was surrendered to give him the chance at a safe, loving life he truly deserves. Now, this gentle giant is ready to find his forever home where he can be cherished.

Malouk is a resilient soul who is blind but navigates his world with grace. He still finds joy in the simple pleasures of life, like leisurely walks, long naps, and of course, plenty of treats! Every now and then, a playful spark ignites, reminding us of the wonderful dog he is.

Ideal Home

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key environment where he can feel safe and settled. He would be perfectly content as the sole pet, but he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and even cats who understand his needs. He is incredibly friendly with people and has a soft spot for children, making him a wonderfully gentle presence for the right family.

Ongoing Health

Malouk is blind, which can sometimes lead to anxiety. He is doing very well with calming medication and benefits greatly from a consistent environment. He finds comfort in his crate, and it's recommended he be crated when left alone.

Training & Support

Malouk is potty trained, though he may have occasional indoor marking incidents (he was recently neutered). Belly bands have proven to be an effective solution. He will also need continued leash training as he can pull, especially when excited or unsure.

Transporation

Malouk is located in Texas, but he is available for local or out-of-state adoption. We coordinate safe transport and offer video meet-and-greets to ensure a perfect match.
