Meet Rio! This handsome pup is ready to find his forever home. Rio is a young, active, and loveable dog who is eager to please and a super fast learner, especially when food is involved! He knows his name, "sit," "come," "down," and can also perform cooperative care and a hand target. Rio enjoys playing fetch and tug, and he's working on his toy-sharing skills. He's also a fan of car rides, though he's still learning to enjoy being restrained. Bath and nail trim times are no problem for Rio. He can be a bit of a couch potato sometimes, but he mostly enjoys having fun!

Ideal Home

Rio would do best in a home that can provide extra guidance and is not afraid to entertain his antics. He would be happy as an only dog, but if you have resident dogs, they should be sturdy, his size or larger, and not easily annoyed. He needs a chill canine companion who won't lash out but will correct his "obnoxiousness and inappropriate play" and tolerate his shenanigans. Rio is not good with cats and does not consider them approved toys.

Training & Support

Rio is working on his food and treat sharing, as well as his dog-on-dog social skills. He can be mouthy during play, so a sturdy dog friend is recommended. He is crate trained. He is also working on his tolerance for restraints during car rides. Rio's foster mom is a professional trainer and is willing to provide tips to help him succeed in his new home.
