Chido

Charming Chido is a sweet boy who has come a long way from the streets to a loving home. Despite his past, Chido continues to trust people and other animals. His love for cats shows his gentle nature, and he easily makes friends with both animals and humans.

Chido enjoys short walks, playing with toys, and lots of naps. He is gentle with children and cats. He is also dog selective; while he can get along with other dogs, he prefers those who don't try to dominate him or jump on him. Loud noises like thunder, lightning, and fireworks can frighten him, but he calms down quickly with reassurance.

Ideal Home

Chido needs a patient household, ideally with someone who works from home or is retired, as he suffers from separation anxiety. He is an indoor companion and deserves to be treated as part of the family.

Ongoing Health

Chido is heartworm positive and is currently on slow-kill medication, which is an inexpensive monthly pill. He should be tested annually to monitor his heartworms. He also experiences occasional hip arthritis, which makes it difficult for him to move initially. This has only occurred twice since he has been in foster care, and a hip massage and rest help him recover. X-rays show inflammation but no fractures. Apart from these conditions, Chido is a healthy and loving companion.

Chido walks well on a leash, knows basic commands, and is potty trained.
