About Lila

Lila is a sweet, speckled girl with a heart of gold, though she may take a little time to show it! We estimate she was born in late 2023 or early 2024. When she first arrived, Lila was understandably shy and shut down, preferring the company of other dogs to humans. But with patience and gentle encouragement, she blossomed! She's now a cuddle bug who enjoys naps with her people and loves to play. She's a master of mischief, so keep an eye on your socks and snacks! Lila is house-trained with a doggy door and kennel-trained, though she can experience some separation anxiety. She's learning to walk on leash, but can be easily spooked by loud noises or sudden movements. Lila was found abandoned, so we're working to help her overcome past traumas. She's started on medication to support her journey, and while adopting her will be a labor of love, the bond you'll build will be incredibly rewarding.

Ideal Home

Lila would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard and a doggy door. A canine companion would be ideal, as she loves to romp and wrestle with other dogs. While she's curious about cats, she shows no intention of harming them, but she will chase if they run. She's still working on leash-walking and can be easily startled, so a calm environment would be best. Given her past experiences, a home where she feels safe and secure is a must.

Ongoing Health

Lila has started on medication to help her adjust and cope with any past trauma. She is altered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Lila is house-trained with a doggy door but will not alert you when she needs to go out. She is kennel-trained but may experience separation anxiety. She is learning to walk on a leash but can be spooked by her surroundings. Gentle guidance, positive reinforcement, and lots of patience are key to her continued success.
